A 2 Z: A is for Angles!

Yyyyeeeeaaaahhhhhh new blog series, folks!! As with the previous series, this is also based on the alphabet, but with a difference: instead of polishes beginning with each letter of the alphabet, we will be following a different prompt beginning with letters of the alphabet - again, one per week. Before we go any further, why don't you check out Charlie's "Meet The Bloggers" post to acquaint yourself with everybody taking part this time?

Now, A is for "angles", so let's do this thing!

I started with a base of Barry M Gold Foil Effects Nail Paint (one coat):

Then, using striping tape and more patience than I ever thought myself capable of, I blocked off squares and painted them in with two colours: Nails Inc "Villiers Street" and Nails Inc "Upper Brook Street", and finished with matte top coat. I got carried away and forgot to photograph each stage of the process, so here is the finished look!

As you can see, I made a little mess on a few nails, mainly because I didn't wait long enough for the colours to dry before I put my tape on! But apart from that, I am really pleased with it :)

Now for mama Bean! She used two different shades of green and stamped an image from Pueen plate 20:

We have a new Hub Page for this series where you will see everybody else's contributions, so click here to view it, and come back next week to see the next instalment!

A To Z: Z is for Zebra!

Well here we are friends, the final installment of our A to Z Blog Series. I can't believe we have finished, it seems like only yesterday that we started! I feel a little bit like I have failed this final challenge - I have no polishes beginning with Z, and while there are a few out there, I couldn't justify buying one just for the purpose of this blog (I know I've done just that for several other installments, but I am stone broke at the moment). So instead, I cheated a little and went for some zebra print stamping!

My base is a polish which has featured in this blog series already - F.U.N Lacquer "Queen". I used Bundle Monster plate BM-223 and a black polish I bought in a job lot from eBay for the stamping, and finished with top coat:

And as mama Bean is in the same "lack of Z polishes" predicament as I am, she chose to do some zebra stamping too! She used a base of Sinful Colors "Unicorn", the same plate as I used, and Barry M "Paprika":

And that, folks, is that! The end of the A To Z Blog Series. I have had so much fun taking part in this challenge, and if I am brutally honest, I don't think I would have continued to keep this blog up to date had I not been invited to take part, so I would like to thank Charlie and all the other lovely ladies for helping me to regain my blogging mojo.

As always, check the A To Z Blog Series Hub Page to see what everybody else has chosen for their Z manicures, aaannnddd..... Come back next week, there may (DEFINITELY WILL) be another challenge on its way ;)

Thanks for reading :) x

A To Z: Y is for You Callin' Me A Lyre? by OPI ...

.... Aaannnnd "Yellow Topaz Glitter" by Barry M. That's right folks, for the penultimate installment of our A to Z Blog Series I've gone for double Ys!

So to begin with, I applied two coats of OPI "You Callin' Me A Lyre", a sheer, pale ballet pink:

Then I added one coat of Barry M "Yellow Topaz Glitter", a clear based glitter topper with gold and holographic particles of varying sizes:

And to finish, I then applied one final coat of OPI "You Callin' Me A Lyre?" and top coat:

I don't know about you but I really rather love this!! So delicate and feminine!

I am afraid mama Bean forgot completely about this week's A to Z, but I promise she will join me next week for the culmination of the series!

Don't forget to check the A to Z Blog Series Hub Page, and come back again next week!

A To Z: X is for XX by Cirque

Hello my little lovers! This week's A To Z Blog Series post is brought to you by the letter X. Very few of us have any polishes beginning with X. In fact, until a few weeks ago I had none, so I hopped on to Rainbow Connection and found this beauty, Cirque "XX", and bought it, especially for A to Z :)

Cirque "XX" is a clear-based glitter topper filled with AWESOME!! All kinds of shapes and sizes and colours of highly reflective particles. Really nice formula, well suspended, nice and "springy" if that makes sense.

I applied two coats of "XX" over a pale lilac base, and finished with top coat:

No nails from Mama Bean today unfortunately, but I hope she will return next week for what will be the penultimate installment of this series!

Don't forget to check the A to Z Blog Series Hub Page to see how everybody else has interpreted the letter X!

Thanks for reading, and come back again soon :) x
