A To Z: W is for Wardour Mews by Nails Inc

Hi folks! Firstly, some things to be considered: 1) I am a day late (sorry!); 2) my computer chair is broken so I am standing up to type this (yes I could go and get a chair from the dining room; no I can't be bothered) which means it won't be very wordy; and 3) if you follow me on either Facebook or Instagram you will know already, but for those who don't.... I have shortened my nails and gone back to my beloved square shape, hooray!

Now that's all out of the way, let's get on to it! This week's A to Z manicure is brought to you by the letter W. I chose Nails Inc "Wardour Mews", a purplish jelly with gold shimmer. I applied two coats and top coat:

And mama has also chosen a Nails Inc polish for the letter W - "Warwick Street" - a milky white base with tiny multi-coloured glitter. Two coats and top coat:

A To Z: V is for No7 "Vivid Violet" & Nails Inc "Villiers Street"

Hello dears! This week in our A to Z Blog Series we are on the letter V - can you believe how quickly the time has gone? It seemed only a couple of weeks ago that we started, yet here we are, just a few letters away from the end of the alphabet!

I have chosen two V polishes this week: No7 "Vivid Violet" and Nails Inc "Villiers Street", with which I have created a tape-assisted geometric striped manicure.

I started with two coats of No7 "Vivid Violet" and top coat:

And then once my top coat was dry, I applied strips of striping tape to my nails and painted over them with one coat of Nails Inc "Villiers Street", removed the tape, and finished with top coat:

I am really pleased with this manicure. I don't often do this type of nail art as it's too fiddly for someone as cack-handed as I am, but this attempt was surprisingly stress-free, and I especially love the jewel tones of the red and purple together :)

Now it's mummy's turn! This week she went for Ciate "Vintage", and she jazzed it up with a Barry M glitter polish (Rose Quartz) which she received for her birthday on Tuesday:

A To Z: U is for Upper Berkeley Street by Nails Inc

Hi folks! For this week's A to Z challenge - the letter U - I have gone for a simple, one-colour manicure using Nails Inc "Upper Berkeley Street".

Upper Berkeley Street is a medium, dusty rosy pink (which even takes on a bit of a lilac hue in some lights) with a creme finish and a beautiful formula. Very elegant, very grown-up. Pictures all show two coats with top coat:

No nails from mummy this week, but she will be back next week for sure!

Don't forget to check the A to Z Blog Series Hub Page to see what everybody else is up to this week, and come back again next week for another installment!

Dance Legend "Just Another Star" NOTD

Just a random, mid-week NOTD post for you today! I had been planning on wearing one of my new Barry M Gelly Nail Paints today, but the sun was shining so I put that aside and instead brought out this little holo beauty to play - "Just Another Star" from Dance Legend's Wow Prism range.

It's difficult to describe, the finish being similar to Milani's 3D Holographic range. "Just Another Star" is a purple jelly base with sparkly, chunky holo flakes. It isn't a linear holographic and isn't gritty like a glitter, it's perfectly smooth and extremely beautiful.  I'm personally not a big fan of the Wow Prism formulas, but I think this may just be me being fussy. I find it very draggy and patchy and always need three coats. However, I know many other people can't speak highly enough of the formulas, so make of that what you will.

Pictures all show three coats with top coat:

What are your views on the Wow Prism polishes from Dance Legend? Do you like them?

Thanks for reading, and come back again soon :) x

A to Z: T is for Tetris

Hi folks! This is a scheduled post as I will be away on Thursday when we usually do our A to Z challenge and probably will be too tired on Friday, so I have this post prepared in advance!

This week we are on the letter T. I chose Indy's Indies "Tetris", a really fun glitter topper made from multi-coloured square glitters in a clear base. I wanted to capture the essence of the Tetris game, so I applied it over a black base.

Here it is, one coat of Indy's Indies "Tetris" over a black base, with top coat:

And then to finish, in order to cut the reflection and allow the colours in Tetris to be seen more easily, I added a layer of matte top coat (which didn't really want to dry fully matte, annoyingly):

And now it's mummy's turn! This week she chose a lovely neutral shade, Barry M "Truffle" Silk Nail Paint, which I gave her for Mother's Day this year! She applied two coats, with no top coat:
