Dance Legend "Android"

Hi friends! Today I have the second of my three Dance Legend holos (the first you can see here).

"Android" is a beautiful jade green polish with a very strong linear holographic finish. In colour it is quite similar to Nubar "Reclaim" (if a little more blue-toned) but it is about one million times more holographic. Formula and application were the same as with "Robots vs Humans", so all I really need to tell you is that my pictures all show two coats, with no top coat, and all are lit by direct sunlight:

Sorry for the bits of fluff stuck to the tips of some of my nails!! *Slapped wrist for Anna*.

Dance Legend "Robots vs Humans"

Hi everybody! Today is a very good day. Ever since Dance Legend's eye-popping holographic polishes began surfacing in the blog world, I knew I had to get at least one of them. It took a while, but today my dream has finally come true! I ordered three from Rainbow Connection earlier this week and they arrived this morning.

I absolutely had to blog about them, so here is the first of the three: "Robots vs Humans". It is a rich, warm brown shade with an incredibly intense linear holographic finish. It is very densely pigmented, but fairly thick - I applied it slightly too thick and was fairly impatient (understandably I'm sure) so it bubbled somewhat, so next time I will make sure to apply thinner coats and leave slightly longer between those coats. Other than that there were no problems - I used regular base coat and it applied like butter, definitely not a high-maintenance holo!

Pictures all show two coats of "Robots vs Humans", without top coat, in a variety of lighting situations:

(Daylight lamp - notorious for killing the holographic effect. As you can see, it is still visible!!)

(Camera flash)

As I mentioned, I did not apply top coat before I took these photographs, but I have done since and I am really pleased to say that it has no detrimental effect on the holographic finish whatsoever.

Do you own any Dance Legend polishes, either holographic or otherwise? What do you think?

Thanks for reading, and come back again soon :) x

Pocket Money Polishes "I Want Candy" NOTD

Hello everybody, how are you today? Today's NOTD features one of the last polishes I bought from Pocket Money Polishes before they closed business. Sad to think there will be no more Glitter Babies, but I will always treasure those which I already have.

Anyway, on to it! "I Want Candy" is a clear based glitter topper with all sorts of bits and pieces in it: red, yellow, green, blue, and pink in a variety of shapes and sizes (squares, hexes, tiny strands etc.). Application was easy. I did make sure I loaded my brush well in order to collect the larger squares, but that caused me no problems. I chose to apply two coats for a really fun, party look, over a very, very pale blue creme base (2True Colour Quick "Shade 15").

Here is 2True Colour Quick "Shade 15" on its own, two coats, no top coat:

And here is the finished manicure - two coats of Pocket Money Polishes "I Want Candy" over the 2True, with top coat:

What do you think?
